This Fantec Fanbox ultra portable disk drive is self powered from a single USB2 port.  In the rare occasion where your USB2 port does not supply enough power you can draw extra power from a second USB2 port, using the special dual-head USB2 lead provided.

The enclosure is made of solid aluminium, enabling heat to be dissipated from the disk so you can use it for extended periods without any danger of overheating.

As well as running cool, the disk is practically silent both when idle and when in operation.

Prior to shipping we fully format the disk (as a single NTFS partition) guaranteeing that you can plug in the disk and use it within seconds.

If you want the disk partitioned in other formats, such as for Apple Mac, then let us know, and we will do it free of charge prior to shipment.

Hardware Installation

Windows plug and play will recognise the disk and it will appear with its own drive letter, just like any other disk.

If you have Windows 98SE you will need to install the drivers from the CDROM provided.
